NOMINATION PROCEDURE return to top

Each nominee for an award must:

  • be notified that he/she has been nominated
  • attend the conference where the award will be given
  • be a member in good standing of the NTA
  • notify the chair in writing (e-mail is acceptable) that he/she will accept the award
  • All nominations must be made by NTA members in good standing.
  • Self-nomination is not acceptable

APPLICATION PACKET REQUIREMENTSreturn to top

Each packet should include the following:

  • a detailed description why the nominee deserves to be awarded in the named category.
  • the name of the NTA award, grant, or scholarship
  • nominator’s name and phone number
  • nominee’s name and job position
  • tutoring program name; street and building address; city; state; ZIP code;
  • nominee’s work telephone number, fax telephone number, and e-mail address
  • description of the program, and nominee’s involvement
  • all typed materials must be double spaced, with the exception of the cover page
  • send two (2) copies of the application packet

  • application packet from the nominated person(s) or group must be postmarked by 2/22/08.

REVIEW PROCEDURE return to top

  • Current members of the Executive Board and members serving on the awards committee are excluded from consideration for these awards during their tenure.
  • Membership on the Executive Board or an awards committee excludes a member’s program from consideration for a program award.
  • The Executive Board and the award committee reserve the right to elect not to present an award in any given year if a qualified person is not nominated.
